POWER NICKEL INC. (PNPNF: OTCQB) | Power Nickel Update -Following up on 2024 Drill Successes, Expanding Exploration Target Areas, and Announcing a New Discovery 700 Metres East of The Lion Zone
Power Nickel Inc. has announced the start of its 2025 winter drill campaign on the Nisk project, following successful high-grade discoveries in 2024. Key highlights from the 2024 drilling include intercepts such as 14.40m of 8.15% Cu, 6.23 g/t Pd, and 8.40 g/t Pt in hole PN-24-047, and 32.00m of 3.62% Cu, 8.10 g/t Pd, and 2.47 g/t Pt in hole PN-24-070. The campaign aims to expand the known Ni-Cu-Co-PGE deposit at Nisk and the Cu-PGE-Au-Ag deposit at Lion, with plans to operate three drills by mid-February to explore 5.5 km of undrilled strike between the two zones. Geophysical surveys will guide the drilling, targeting structures and EM anomalies similar to those that led to the Lion discovery in 2023.
A new discovery, PN-24-094, located 700 meters east of the Lion Zone, has shown promising results with massive sulphides intersected, indicating potential for a third deposit type within the camp. The 2025 campaign will focus on further delineating this discovery and expanding the resource base. Power Nickel aims to increase the 2023 NI43-101 mineral resource estimate and better understand the connection between the Nisk and Lion deposits. The company’s exploration efforts are supported by geophysical data and on-site XRF analyses, with assays pending to characterize the new discovery.
Power Nickel’s exploration strategy underscores the potential for significant metal volumes in the Nisk project, drawing parallels to large Ni deposit camps like Norilsk and Sudbury. The company remains focused on expanding its high-grade nickel-copper PGM, gold, and silver mineralization, with the goal of developing Canada’s next polymetallic mine.
