First Nordic Metals Corp. (FNM) has announced the discovery of four new multi-kilometric orogenic gold pathfinder anomalies at its 100%-owned Storjuktan project in northern Sweden. This follows a comprehensive regional geochemistry exploration program, which revealed anomalies consistent with orogenic gold signatures. The project is strategically located adjacent to FNM’s Barsele project, and the newly identified targets add to the existing pipeline, including the advanced Nippas target. Notably, only half of the Storjuktan area has been sampled, yet five large-scale targets have already emerged, indicating significant exploration potential.
The recent exploration efforts involved a property-wide till geochemical survey that collected approximately 17,000 B-horizon glacial till samples. The results identified four high-priority gold pathfinder anomalies primarily composed of arsenic, copper, and zinc. The sampling methodology effectively targeted structural corridors associated with known mineralization patterns in the Gold Line belt. Current efforts are focused on selecting samples for gold assays at an external laboratory, with plans for follow-up drilling in 2025 based on the results.
The Storjuktan project covers over 30,000 hectares and is characterized by complex geological formations conducive to gold mineralization. The geology consists of an inverted volcano-sedimentary sequence with granitic intrusions, and the structural corridors are seen as prospective for orogenic gold deposits. With ongoing exploration and the identification of new targets, FNM aims to advance its projects in Sweden and establish a prominent gold district in Europe.
